Need a little help on this weird occurrence with my D2

By "Srim 40" do you mean Discrimination of 4.0? If so, try setting your discrimination at 6.5. This will give you the old "iron grunt" over such targets.

Any word on WSA II-XL headphones for Deus II?

Phillipe of XP in France told me they would be available in the May/June time frame...and here we are. I suspect you'll see them very soon.

    DEUS 1 VS. DEUS 2

I had a D1 and sold it because it just wasn't up to saltwater beach hunting. Stayed with my stable of Minelabs until the D2 was fielded. I now have two D2s and they are quality performers on the beach and anywhere else I want to go. I also like the menu structure of the D2 better than the...

Im ready to pull the plug on the D2

0.71 is the latest as of 27 May and I've had no problems with it...it all works fine...to include the clock.

    Will Deus 1 be obsolete?

Speaking only as a beach hunter, I’d say yes…the D2 far outclasses the D1. I had a D1 several years ago and it just couldn’t handle a salt water beach so I sold it. Used only Minelabs until the D2 was fielded. The D2 is now my detector of choice.

Deus 2 beach hunters TAKE NOTE

To pass up high conductors thinking it's only a clad quarter in search of only gold, is to pass up silver rings and other silver jewelry. For those willing to do that, I want to be hunting right behind them. :detecting: I've dug some nice silver rings, some of which contained small diamonds...

    Calabash digger .... Dental gold.....

It's truly amazing at what you can find on the beach at times...and what you see walking around on the beach at times too!

XP DEUS II XY SCREEN ON BOTTLE CAPS

I appreciate every one of these tests ol' Calabash is conducting for the detecting community. Thank you my friend.

BEACH HUNT DAY 2 Myrtle Beach S.C.

Thanks Calabash. Rusty bottle caps have fooled more than one detector in my beach life...that's certain. It sounds like you'll be able to learn the stuttering associated with a rusty cap while it blocks the newer caps as you've already shown. Since the ratio of newer caps to rusty ones...

Deus II 9" or 11" coil

Since 99% of my hunting is on beaches, I ordered the 11" coil. I may get a 9" at some point but that's TBD.

Coin under foil part 2 XP DEUS II

In just my personal experience of hunting our Florida beaches, I don't notch out anything. I've found that if I notch out one of our biggest nemesis, the ever present pull tab, I'd risk notching out some forms of gold as their metallurgical signatures are extremely similar and register in the...

Deus 2 most anticipated release ever..

I, for one, am eager to see Calabash run the Deus 2 through its paces as I'm sure it will be a solid showing of what this machine can do and, just as importantly, what it cannot do....that's Calabash's way. I've been detecting since 1970 and have seen numerous tests by a lot of folks. Many...

    Coil Stiffeners?

I've had three stiffeners and had three broken coils even with the stiffeners installed...all coils were under warranty fortunately. The only way to fix this is to epoxy the stiffeners to the coil itself making the ears and stiffener one solid piece. However, this could very well void the...

    Your Nox Beach Settings?

I will certainly give you the settings I use on east coast Central Florida beaches but that doesn't mean they'll be optimal on your beaches. As I always say, "~ Predetermined settings serve only to get you in the ballpark. It’s up to you to pick the best seat ~" I use my 3 tone set up, ( zone...

    Clean those coil covers!

I clean mine after every hunt. I spray it down, remove the coil cover and clean out the sand. I then wash it with warm water ensuring I get the salt spary off. After it’s dry, I silicone the cables. I do all this because 99.9% of my hunts are on saltwater beaches and I know how hard that can...

    Beach scoop recommendations.

I use the Stealth 920 and 720. Great scoops. I would also recommend that you check out Xtreme scoops. Both the Stealth and Xtreme are pricey but you'll only ever buy one. Mine are still like new after many years of hard use.
