just curious who has purchased a CTX in the last 12 months

What were your reasons? other than it is a darn good detector. I bought mine after getting fed up with my Nox 800 for my type of hunting. Urban and suburban trashy parks trying to find gold rings.

    Gb and nc after changes

yes and apparently new CTX users like myself are still getting fooled. It is not surprising that people are still buying the CTX. Especially like me trying for 3 years to effectively use a Nox 800 in a highly trashy urban and suburban hunting areas. Atlanta has grown to 6,144,050 people and...

    Gb and nc after changes

Now I know thanks to you and others. The CTX3030 manual was not much help to me. You would think after 10 years Minelab could make that section of the CTX manual a little clearer. Since having the default as checked, that was what the engineers wanted you to use most of the time.

    Gb and nc after changes

Mine has these two options when you long press ground balance: Enable ground balance with a check box and below it start ground balance. Did you mean enable ground balance instead of enable manual ground balance?

    People Planting Finds

Maybe they are too stupid to realize a lot of us have fairly well founded suspicions about them. You know once you doubt someone's honesty, you never trust them.

1930 Captain Hawks Flight Patrol Badge / Silver Jewelry and Coins

The aliens dropped the Etrac in his lap. Etrac + esperience = silver finds.

Question! Is the E-Trac really the best coin detector?

I rather suspect the Etrac is the silver coin machine every one says it is. I just bought a new CTX3030 7 months ago after selling my Nox 800. CTX is easier, quieter, and ID's targets so much better. Heavy, yes, use Doc's Swingything harness and all is well. Will it find rings? sure if you dig...

    Some Etrac Questions

Not sure about the etrac, but on CTX I just make the shaft max short, feed in the cable and the cable plug comes out the battery end of the shaft with about 1/4" showing, just enough to grab with my fingers and attach to the battery box. So far has not been a problem.

Etrac old school or is it 🤔

I know this is an e-trac sub-forum, but I have had my CTX3030 now , and I think it is my forever machine.

Do you lose sensitivity if you reject a lot of stuff in a pattern?

I think you are correct. I was referring to the CTX3030. First off this is an old and has a slower processor, so pretty much all extra discrim and features you used slows down the processor. On new ones like XP1 or 2 or Nox, or Legend, etc it may not matter.

    E-trac vs. XP Deus II.

I have seen more than a few videos of people using a fast machine, Nox or Deus 1 or 2 using real fast swings maybe 1 to 1.5 seconds from side to side. I would rather think they would improve their good find rate by slowing their swing down to 3-4 seconds regardless of having a fast machine...

Do you lose sensitivity if you reject a lot of stuff in a pattern?

Mike and others are correct in what they say. But discrim does slow down the processor. Better method is to use your tone audio set up to alert you to different types of targets. There are quite a few ways to do this.

Wtb Books or manuals on the CTX 3030

A very good choice. I had to work my way up with 3 years on AT Pro and 3 years on Nox 800. Wished I had bought my CTX3030 6 years ago. Best Coil finder on the market. It it says it is a coin, it is a coin. The color graphic display of the FE/CO grid is nothing short of remarkable. Plus a very...

    Hunting rings with CTX

Looks like you are right. Just yesterday found a 14k mens wedding band at 12.14 (close enough).

    Ctx does not disappoint

Man some great big silver you fouond!!!! Went from the AT Pro for 3 years, Nox 800 for 3 years to the CTX3030. Wow, what a difference in detectors. My forever detector. Trashy urban site, the answer is the CTX3030 and the 6" coil.

    CTX GOLD RING FIND

Great find. I just recently bought a 6" coil for my CTX. Most of my detecting sites in North Atlanta are loaded with pull tabs, pop tops, can slaw and bottle caps and so on. With the 6" you can often to manage to often only get your good target under the coil and get a rock solid TID and FE/CO...

Hello all. New to forums and new to the ctx.

yes for me a good place to attach the WM10 near my shoulder and then just run a small 6-8" coil plug to my headphones and not have any dangling wires like when I attached the wm10 to my belt.

Hello all. New to forums and new to the ctx.

yes, larger coil more stuff under coil, harder to pinpoint using the pin point function. I use the heel/toe method to isolate the good target with just the point of the coil. Solves the pinpointing problem for me.
