    No fellow hunters.... and a new V3i.... no not sure with 100% that it was not a detector settiing.... I tried everything even RX to 1 and AM and DX very low.... just would not manual balance even with 20 or so pumps.... felt like wraping it around the nearest telephone pole I was so...

    Very Good Advice Rob.... I tune in here to get good sound advice on the V3 or now the V3i.... I have had my machine for some time now... when I upgraded to the V3i it includes a learning curve again.... but it is worth it!

    The manual is helpful but not needed...the on board manual is very good... I do like to sit and read the paper manual however.... the V3i is very different in many ways... not the least of how it responds to targets... I am making quite a few different adjustments...

    BTW you can always expect the VDI's to change some because so many factors figure in to the equation.... size, depth, metal, ground condition, settings..... but you should expect good VDI's MUCH deeper than 5 inches... in most ground.

    I get a lot of laughs out of people who just assume that you don't know what you are doing>>>>..... It happens to me as well on another forum..... fact is that I have had the very same issue for some time no matter what ground I am in and no matter what settings I use..... This is not the norm...

    I never did learn my DFX much beyond the stock programs.... I sprung for the V3 because I wanted to have an edge when I went out..... I do not know if it is deeper than the DFX I haven't been able to tell yet BUT the screen information is much more than I expected... This one I am learning well...
