What has been your # 1 detector in years passed

Toss up - I can't let my Compadre go (so light and simplistic) beep & dig - but years ago I spent many hours with the 6000/Di Pro (1st new in box detector I bought after used detectors) and the 6000 gave many nice finds.
I been down for years and now getting back in finally swung the Compadre just today I still like it but still kicking myself for giving the Vaquero & Tejon away.
I also had given my 6000 away years ago, replaced with a V3i and will soon have to re-learn it.
I'll be swinging the Compadre for awhile (medical reasons) + old & crunchy and the little cheap thing still works (just doesn't go deep but that's okay with me).
Enjoyed reading other's favorites.

Well, at 85, I have to think. The first was a Compass and then a Whites. And from there was another Whites (XLt then DFX) which were really good. {remember) Dave Z who helped me and who could blow the "doors off of Minelabs!) And then the Tesoro which I fell in love with! Next was a Troy X5 That I fell in love with and still have with coils. All gave me happiness!List your favorite detector of all times

I have all the coils including the 5 inch. The 10 inch I was privileged to run tests on for Troy.
I guess I just can't seem to sell the entire outfit although I will be honest and
admit I doubt I will hunt again.

I have had a few favorites. Minelab Excalibur 800 is my favorite metal detector. Great for hunting in the water . Just would like to find another 8 inch coil for it. Also the Minelab E-trac for land hunting. Fisher cz 6 was a nice machine too. Whites with the big foot coil was nice in it's day.

My 2 Compadres (7" and 5.75") They are so simple and lightweight, fun and make every hunt exciting and adventerous. I have had the 5.75" for 14 years and have put alot of hours on it. It still works like the day I took it out of the box.

I will say that before I started swinging these Beep and Digs my favorite detector was the Xterra 705, i always felt the 705 was one of the most under rated detectors to have ever been produced, and I still feel that way about the Xterra 705, but having said that i honestly wish I would have started swinging some of these beep and digs long before I finally started using them.
rite now if I had to choose only one of my Beep and digs as my favorite I really do not know if I could, i like all of the beep and digs I own equally, I currently own 6 Beep and digs which are the Troy Shadow X5,
Golden Mask Pro 4WD, Tesoro Tejon and Vaquero, Deep Tech Vista X and the Xp Gold Maxx Power I also have a Fisher Cz5 on the way that I traded another detector for it, but rite now if I had to absolutely choose a favorite detector out of all the beep and digs i currently own and have used it would be the first one I listed the Troy Shadow X5 with the 7 inch concentric coil, it has amazing depth and is just a real pleasure to swing, again I absolutely love all of the Beep and Digs i have acquired over the past year and honestly wish I had started out years ago using any of the ones I currently own and have used, they are just so simple and less frustrating to learn and they are all just as capable as these newer so called higher tech detectors which I also own and have used, I pretty much listed the Beep and Digs in the order at which I like them from the most liked to the least liked

I also have the Troy X5 as my favorite out of the 22 I've owned. For relics, and coins it's the best. I just wish I had the 7" coil to go with it.

I notice many of those listed are also some of my favorite too.. At this time my Sovereigns is the ones I do the best with in most cases, the Shadow X 5 I have with 2 coils is used a lot more than the Sovereigns at this time because of the weight and can swing the coil faster and cover more area for checking out new areas. I just ordered a used Detch Vista X as I wanted to try one as others are saying they do so well with them. Another one I sold I should have kept was the Tejon as it was a great coin detector and was close to the X5 for me anyway.
I find that the best ones are those you don't have to try to get them set just right to do good, too many setting to adjust or misadjust as I rather be swinging the detector more than tryin go get the right setting. .
One thing I have learned is that the most expensive detectors don't find the best, but the ones you get to know and simple to use gets more of the gold and interesting finds. I learned a lot with my first detector in 1973 a whites Coinmaster 4 as there was no disc, so you had to seperate the targets by how they sound and how big the signals sound and didnt have so many pull tabs out there as there is now.
