Just a reminder to folks posting on the Garrett Forum about the VX9 issues.

They are aware of the issues and are working on it.

Just a reminder that this is a Garrett forum, available for all for getting/giving Garrett support, posting finds and being used in a respectable manner. Deviating too far from this will result in posts being removed. Thanks for your understanding.

John, I posted with respect. I posted with manners. I posted the truth. I gave Garrett support by showing an issue that needed to be corrected. How did my now deleted post deviate? Was it me expecting Garrett to make this issue known to the public out of line or was Garrett selling me a metal detector that is useless out of line? I don't mind giving them time to fix the problem, BUT they need to #1 stop the sales of a known defective product. #2 Communicate to the people that have already purchased the detector, that there is a problem. #3 Communicate a plan of action with a timeline. But from your statement above I would have to lie to give Garrett the type of support that doesn't get deleted on this forum. Well, with all due respect, I can't do that. Nor do I want even one more person to waste their money on a machine that should not have been sold in the first place. The day that I bought mine I upgraded the software and can not revert to the old software so that I have a usable machine. Do I want to warn others of this until they get it resolved? You bet I do, and so should anyone with integrity,

I saw calabashs video on this an I agree with you. Even though I like the folks at Garrett, They seem to be slack on quality control.

Always loving Garrett.
My first real detectors.
Still own a few.
The 9 is quite interesting to me.
Was hoping for a VX3 variant with less adjustments after seeing the multi screen.

Though I have to many machines as it is.
And my latest disabilities not letting me walk much past 200'.
Not sure I'll buy another.
I've read numerous troubling conditions since the last update.
John what's your experience on that ?
Can guys go back to the old program ?

Well, it looks like you can not go to the previous version at the moment. I am waiting like everyone else or a down-loadable fix.

It sounds like the upgrade is where the problem is, never heard of any real problems with the ones that didnt do the upgrades. I have had mine since the they first came out and wanted to do the upgrades, but havent yet and will wait until Garrett has a chance to fix the last upgrade. I know they will and make it right as they are one of the best detector builders. I wonder why the field tester never seen this as this is the purpose of the field tester to see any little bug before it is released to the public. Just hope it will get taken care of rather quickly and if it is a software problem I figure it can be a upgrade we as the customer can fix.
We just got to be patient and give Garrett time to figure this out. This is what happens when we get in a hurry to do upgrades and want everything now. For me I would like to see a smaller coil than the stock one, but they will when they can and not before.

I always liked the hockey puck coil. I always ran it full sensitivity, getting into some of the tightest vegetation growth areas, and often found targets.
