Just Arrived, my new Deus 2. Can’t wait to hit the beach.

Well-known member
Well finally got my new Deus 2 and running through the programs, not to keen about the head phone sounds, too squeaky. Also wow, EMI does play havoc on the machine if your in the wrong area, even after making all the adjustments, some better than others depending on factory default programs. Watched a lot of videos which made it very easy to run through the settings, lingo different but the same functions, example- recovery speed same as reactivity. Kind of an easy transition after using a multi detector for a while.
Welll, Will have to see how she performs on the beach, will post my finds and first impressions when I get back.
HAPPY HUNTING

Run the frequency scan as I'm sure you already know, but you can also mitigate the noise by notching out 98-99. That will get rid of about 40-50% of the irritating chatter. You could drop down to 97-99 and reduce it even more, but you will be in dangerous territory for notching large silver.
IMO, it's worth the risk when you want to hunt an area with EMI. However, know that notching only reduces the noise, not the debilitating effects EMI may have on the detector's performance.

Thanx!

Sometimes when it gets to chatty I just switch to single frequency and run 14 khz for a while. But I still run it wide open using Tone breaks as a discrimination. Digging everything above 40 on the meter, but not 43 as it is generally a sprinkler.
Check out tone breaks for the xp deus 2 on Youtube as it might help, Also check out the beach programs ;)Yeah

I have a hard time with EMI on one beach its very close to train tracks I've had to lower sensitivity works but I'm using my Manticore on the beach
with no noise
.
