Zinc pennys and bottlecaps.

Just been looking at the zinc penny and bottlecap signatures , from what i see both look exactly the same . I can't see even a small difference .

Well...

Your correct ofcourse...and the detector was right first.. look at the icons...

But its a VDI 56 vs a VDI 62 reading....and the search screen has some small differences in the bars.

And we didnt hear the sound those made.....or know how you would set up your sound preferences.....

Bottlecaps and especially screwcaps are a nightmare and especially when they are flat....

I expect the same to happen in the match gold VS pulltab fight...

Screwcaps are one my main plague, i have left to many in the ground to say i didnt leave any coins...

The other main plague is shells, i expect the vision to address them much better because of their shape....

Still like to see an Indian penny. I have problems with those as they frequently come in as bottlecaps as well. Like to see what the Vision shows on them.

There is allways something to learn and im eager to do it but wont have a vision for many weeks..

My educated guess will be that they willl be close, if everything would be spot on on the vision they could have priced it at 20.000,- USD.

And we would still bought it..

Back to the zink vs bottlecap...

Isnt the signature wider on the bottlecap then on the zink too, I missed that...

Maybe someone with a better vision huhu,,, hehe  then me can sort out if that is just sweep speed that does it..... Or a definitive ID signature....

Not enough difference in my opinion. That size estimate will be impacted by depth, just like how a can that's deep might read as a silver quarter...

Yepp..

Thats right, but everything will change with real life detecting..... we have to take the pictures we have..with depth and minerals involved there will be changes on the other screens aswell...

And i see a difference on those two pics... time will tell if my use of the vision will make me trust it enough to not dig the close ones...

A different tool for the job...... just what i needed to go to 120% motivation....

I have just re checked the signatures and looking closer i agree the bottlecap shows a wider signature at the base of the waveform , i guess with practice it may be actually possible to tell the difference. The sizing feature is going to be a real useful aid at discriminating a lot of junk out. Looks like this detector is going to be a winner for sure i will definetely be buying a vision for sure once i get to see some of the finds the vision is finding.

I think that you will adapt to the new screen really well. Not only is the wave form narrower on the coin, if you look closely, you will notice that the vertical markers showing the start and finish of the waive form are also line up differently on each of these targets. As I indicated in another thread here, I'm am keenly interested in these 2 targets as our Aussie $1 and $2 coins hit like your zinc pennies. You will most likely find that if it is like other Whites units, then you can set up the pinpoint sensitivity to give distinctly different sounds on these 2 targets. Seeing what the new screens are saying, I think that you will start to see the differences in these targets very easily after some practice.
