Have any of you guys found anything other than a zinc penny on a zinc penny signal? I've gotten accustomed to not digging up zinc penny signals lately. The VDI ranges from 75-76 whenever I think there's one.

I sometimes skip the zincs and just dig the copper pennies & higher, like yesterday at the skateboard park. Of course, there are always surprises - could be gold or a nice Spanish Reale (yeah, at the skate park, right!!). Here are a few compiled VDI notes:

It's cruel, isn't it? Pull tabs at 53, just like a nickel or gold ring. Old, rusty bottlecaps and Bud Lite caps a nice crisp 83 like dimes or quarters, Zincolns at 75-77 like a half dime or Indian Head... I can't wait 'till the detectors have a button to discriminate those critters!!

Big gold rings will come in there as well as most tokens. ALWAYS dig them! It will pay!
I agree Like Bart tells ya . But if a person were to dig those signals for 20 years and no gold he might tell to go to hell
I have found corroded zincs with vdi of high 60 and up. but most of them R around 75 76. Most of my tokens are right there with the zinc numbers. I allways dig all around old houses..
