Zinc Park struck again

walnut

New member
In my town, there is an old park which is named Zinc Park, and it is a pretty funny thing because I have found a pretty large pile of gold plated zinc costume jewelry there. And of course lots of zincolns.

I keep going back because I have also found a fair number of silver jewelry items there from time to time. Today, only 52 cents and an old cub scout neckerchief clasp. I almost always find some type of jewelry tthere but not today.

I just mentioned it cause I know you guys would appreciate the irony of that name....

Your mention of the neckerchief clasp reminds me of one of the surprising things I like about detecting. I had never retrieved a neckerchief clasp over the years, then found two on the same afternoon in different parks 20 miles apart. We never know what's going to show up from one outing to another.

I tossed that clasp. I feel kinda bad about that but it has no value except to that little boy who lost it several years ago. I have buckets of junk already.
