ZAGG Invisible Shield for E-Trac, anyone installed it?

Has anyone installed this on their metal detector, have a video or pictures of it installed? Are you happy with it? I heard the factory cover is too hard to see and am considering ordering this item.

Cheers

:surprised: uh oh.... did I say a bad word? I had zee a gee gee in the subject line and it changed it to look like I swore. I'm new here, did I say a naughty word?

Coolio.... better than saran wrap :clapping:

Have one on. Unless it's raining I would say it is the best way NOT to have to use the hard to see through supplied cover or saran wrap! It is expensive for a piece of plastic but it works great at protecting the screen on your high priced MD.

I have one on my Etrac, my XS, and a PDA. easy to put on if you read the instructions. I still try not to abuse the screen, but they work really well protecting the screen from scratches and may improve readablity of the screen in sunlight. Way better than the rain cover. It is only for protecting the screen from scratches not moisture.

Thank you all for the feedback... appreciate it, looks like a good investment.

Did you all do the one that covers the sides too or just the display?

Cheers
Jen

As compared to a standard dust cover it is far superior as far as glare goes. It is shiny but not to the point of being distorted as the Vinyl covers are. That distortion of the standard Vinyl cover makes viewing the screen almost impossible when the sun hit it.

I am the one who contacted the company to develop this for the E-trac. My E-trac was the first one to have this cover and it was used to make the pattern for the cover.

I do not work for the company or make any money off of the sales. I just wanted to help out people who own E-tracs or Explorers keep their machines looking new. I think it has been very successful in doing that. I have heard a lot of people really like it.

I love mine !

Hi,

I got the sides too but after putting them on I don't really see any benefit compared to the extra cost. If it would have covered the whole box maybe but they just cover the sides of the front "plate".

The next time your E-trc falls over in the sand or gravel and then move it slightly horizontally across the ground, the black plastic will scratch. The side protection is necessary. The back side of the control box is slightly recessed from the mentioned sides and so is at less of a risk of getting scratched.

Thanks again team... :) I just commited to the purchase of a GPX-4500 today so it looks like I have the bug... AHHHHHHHHHH (screaming and running from the room).

Not a bad word, just chose not to be a sponsor, so the site and name have been banned.

OOOOH ok... thanks for clarifying for me.

I got mine today and was wondering if it interferes with the buttons, or if it molds to them and reinforces them or exactly how it works as far as functionality. I was expecting it to just cover the display is the reason I was asking, didn't realize it would cover the entire face.

You won't even know it's there. It's a wonderful addition - well worth the money. You don't have to worry about scratching the screen when you wipe dust or dirt off. It doesn't affect button function at all.

Thanks for the info Bruce and Coop, it's appreciated, I'll go ahead and install it then.

On their website I only see one purchase option for the Etrac. How does one get the side covers? Also does it protect the menu button area? Guess not since that area is not flat.
