Your thoughts on the M6

I had an MXT & now I have the M6. I LOVE it. Easy to use & goes deep. The same as the MXT without the relic mode, which I don't really need. I guess if I lived near Civil War places, I'd like the relic mode. I have the 5.3" coil for trashy areas & pretty much leave it on, except when I'm beach hunting. You won't be sorry!

The M6 is advertised as a coin and jewelry detector but I can't see any reason why it could not be used in relic hunting. I would like to see some comments from anyone who has dug relics with it. Does it have good depth on buttons and bullets?

The M6 is a good machine. I have a MXT and have hunted with the M6. I like the MXT better. You have more adjustments and better fine tuning with the MXT. The Gain adjustment, once you learn how the detector works, can be a bonus in dry conditions. Just my $0.02.

If you have read some of my posts, dont judge the M-6 by my meger finds, you can have the greatest detector in the world , but if you dont go to a good spot its nada, I really like my M-6 i have found two dimes at a full 8" in the sand and most other coins i get a good strong signal down to 6" im using the 5.3 coil and it pinpoints right on .The M-6 is so simple to use and the tone I,D is very helpfull it will find relics no problem and deep if i was going to relic hunt i would use a bigger coil , its disrimnation on foil and iron is great but the coin mode is not my thing i want to find a gold ring no regrets but as soon as i can aford an MXT i would like to get one but as far as depth i dont think thear is much of a differance but just to settle the depth thing im going to ask mike parks at mission metal detectors to do a test whith the dfx-mxt-and M-6 and see which one is deeper i want to make sure im not giving false info but to get down 8" in sand whith the 5.3 eclips coil thats good my old bouty hunter would not get 4"

I love mine!! Since I bought it june..I have 3/4 cup of wheaties from 1909 on.. 1889 barber dime, 1930 standing lady quarter, several silver washington quarters, several mercs, few silver rosies,4 bens half dollars , a walking lady half dollar, a few buffalos (just found a 24 yesterday), old chinese coin and several late 1800's buttons..Also about 175.00 in new clad..
Most if the older coins were over a measured 6" and beyond.. Relics wouldn't be any problem at all!!! Trying to sell my other detector so I can purchase another M-6...
