Your thoughts on CTX

Thinking seriously on purchasing a CTX. The serious part is the $2500.00 price tag. Is this detector really worth the extra grand above the cost of an E-trac? I do like the aspect of being able to water hunt with it!! I would appreciate any info that you may give on this subject. Also target seperation seems to be greatly improved compared to E-trac???

I believe most people are going to point you to this post on page 5.

I went from the ETRAC to the CTX and I think it was well worth it. I've had the ctx for about 2 months now and the things I've noticed when making comparisons is, IMO, the iffy signals are gone with the ctx...the tones are loud and clear and the TID info is accurate at depth. To date, I've found 7 silvers with my ctx and 5 of those silvers were on edge...keep in mind the areas I detect in have been hunted time and again, so presumably these on edge coins were missed by others. I've also noticed that I dig less trash. One other thing, I did manage to recover about half the purchase price of the ctx when I sold my ETRAC plus some accessories.

Upgraded to the CTX from the AT Pro..
Amazing what a difference there is..
Also digging less trash and not regretting it in the least..
So well balanced that I'm not really noticing any significant difference in the weight compared to the AT Pro.
Very happy.

I like my CTX and do well with it , but to me its not worth the extra 1000.00 over the etrac I owned.

Love everything about it, and now after using it, I would have paid 2000 more for it....... K probably not, But I honestly cant eve come up with 1 complaint about it.... except for the screen glare, but even that I have grown used to, and I forget all about it, even though I am probably cross eyed now from staring at the screen. I loved my E-Trac, and I am honestly more at ease with the CTX, and I feel even more confident when I hunt. LOVE IT!!!! And, I don't miss my E-Trac, even though it is an amazing detector. Good luck with your decision.

[size=medium]I want to thank you all for the input on the CTX! I finally had enough of the decision making, and took the plunge. I picked one up today, and can't wait for the weather to turn better. Youtube videos that I have been watching are very promising with this detector. Again, thanks a bunch!!!
