YOUR THOUGHTS ON 6 inch 7.5 COIL

Nock

New member
I have just purchased a 6 inch 7.5 coil for my x70. Should be getting it soon. I would like anyones comments on this coil being used in the field. Thank you , GOOD HUNTING TO ALL

Nice in trashy areas. I have found about half of my coins with it.

I have the six inch, 7.5kHz coil and have had the high frequency one too. Although the high frequency DD separated a little better in trash, I find that with the 7.5 kHz I dig less of it. Great coil.

Good luck

Kurt

It's a great coil. I've used mine a lot. Goes plenty deep enough in trashy areas, and I seldom have my sensitivity over half-way.

I really enjoy using mine. I do mix up the coils that I do use (whatever mood I'm in at the time) but I find that the numbers lock in on our Aussie coins better than the other coils and despite it's only a 6in coil, the way it throws out it's detection field, it covers the the ground very efficiently. I'm not opposed to using it to hunt wide open spaces. it's easier to pinpoint with as well.

There must be a lot of difference in the way some of the X-T's are tuned at the factory. If I were to run mine with the sensitivity cut in half, I'd have absolutely no depth at all. By the same token though, outside interference and ground conditions rarely ever bothers mine even with the sensitivity usually set at 28 to 30. So I guess there is a trade off, being able to use higher sensitivity settings with little interference or needing to use lower sensitivity settings while potentially having more depth available for certain areas...

I have the 6" HF coil and it's fantastic in trashy areas. I did dig an old token at 9" but I was deep in the woods with the sens cranked up to 30.
I am sure you will love the 6" MF

I just took my x70 with the 6 inch 7.5 coil on it to local ball field. I am sure i am going to like it. It is so light on your arm I found a few quarters at 4 inchs in depth on my first time out with it. I will be using it mainly in the woods here when the weather allows . It has been raining here all day and will have to dry out before i can go into the woods. Good Huntin to all !

Nock ,, with xterra 70 and lovin it!!

I have used my 6'' twice now, it is great in the woods because you can manuver through the brush and rocks much better, It also is a much more rugged coil than my stock 7.5. The smaller size makes pinpointing a snap, you dont need to use pinpoint mode with this coil. And as if the Xterras arent light enough this coil can be swung all day with little fatigue.
