Your opinion needed....please.

2 houses on my street are now forclosed and bank owned. These houses are over 100 years old. I want to scan there property. I cant get ahold of anyone at these big corprate banks . What do I do?? I am stuck between my Morals. What would you do??:garrett:

Ahh just do it. Its not like the bank will care, as long as you dont wreck the yards. If you do it right, you can't hardly tell any one has dug there. Besides nobody lives in them do they???

Doubt if the bank will care, but watch the nosy neighbors.....as they probably were friendly with the last occupants...I like the one about the lost ring myself...If approached just leave as its not worth the trouble and doubt if the bank would pursue it any farther....do be neat as it will help the situation.....In other words go for it but be prepared to leave...if applicable....

One thing to bear in mind, even though they are in foreclosure, they are still private property and trespassing laws prevail and you could get arrested.

Bill.

they are right, trespassing IS trespassing, however, a person that is not repsonsible for the property CANNOT prosecute or even have a report taken. it can only be done by someone with legal power to do so (homeowner, bank, etc.)

If it isn't posted, go for it. All they can do is ask you to leave. If you refuse, then they can arrest you. I doubt if the bank will ever know.

I tried to get permission to hunt a property that was owned by a bank, scheduled to be torn down and got a flat no! It is trespassing if you go without permission. I've been asked if I was "one of those" (trespassers) that people have seen on some project properties around here. You will be seen by somebody and it may cause a lot of problems down the road. I'd look around for some place else. The places next door to these properties maybe.

Very true, usually if the police show up because someone call on you, they will give you a verbal warning the first time.

MAN, HE ISN'T ASKING TO SQUAT (BE A SQUATTER) ON THE PROPERTY, JUST SWEEP THE LAWN, NOBODY WILL CARE.

I'm sure it would make the national news:rofl:

Yeah detecting private property without permission is bad news and gives the hobby a bad name if one is caught, and makes it tough for others to get permission down the road.
