Your favorite smaller coil for trash (iron) filled parks?

Hey all,

Anyone try a few different smaller coils?
I love the stock Pro (11) that comes with the Explorer SE pro, but is a nightmare in most parks I've been to with all the iron.
Was looking at the Stealth x5 from sunray, and maybe the Joey.

Any experience with them or other small coils for the Explorer greatly appreciated.

HH,
MM

I use a 6" Excelerator coil and I love it. It hits on very small items as well. In fact I have been using it on a high trash area that my large coils were too much for. So far its nailed 2 rings, a watch , a couple earings, not to mention all the clad.

I personally don't take much from videos that aren't even testing small coils on the explorer.
Videos showing depth tests with an E-trac have nothing to do with the Explorers.

I also don't take much stock in videos showing depth tests or comparing small coils in a test garden.
That doesn't have anything to do with actual infield reactions over targets that have been buried for many years and in natural conditions.

Just my honest opinion.

Remember... your settings, soil conditions, experience on your particular Explorer, and many other factors will have some bearing on your results with each coil. I would imagine almost everyone has a differing opinion on which coil they feel works best for him or her. Good luck on your choice.

All the smaller coils are good ones and will help you find targets the stock coil missed. I have used almost every available coil...even the 5" excelerator...and they all have their strong points. Good luck on your decision.

I use the 6x8 SEF on my SE Pro exclusively. Don't use the stock coil much at all. I LOVE this coil. I get good depth. 8" in moist soil and outstanding separation.
