Hey all you little yellow fellow users. I would like to know what is your best find so far that you have found with the Ace 250! And if you remember any details such as readings, tones , locations and things like that, I'd love to know about it.
Meanwhile I'm off to do some detecting with a borrowed Ace 250 at a hunted out park to see if I can post a reply myself!(Hoping kids and wife will get me my own for fathers day.)

mine was yesterday, found an 1825 50 cent piece!!! my oldest coin to date right in my own yard.

So, how deep was it and where did it register "right on?"

You've got quite a yard there.

I like to work the strip of turf between the sidewalk and the street in the old part of town and any vacant lot I come across and can get permission.

I once found a 1906 Barber 50-cent piece in the driveway of an old house. Great fun, this metal detecting stuff!! <><

my house was built in 1853 for a doctor.it has a butlers residence on the 3rd floor. im hoping he left some money buried in the ground!! time will tell.this is without a doubt my best find!! only been doing this for a month!! my 6th silver coin all from my yard. also the coin showed on the ace250 as 50 cent then $1 then back. its slightly bigger than todays half dollar but smaller than a silver dollar. it did say it was 8 inches deep, and it was. i really like this little machine. my brother likes it so much he is selling his whites machine lol hes been doing this for over 30 years and basically only used whites. so thats my story and im sticking to it!!! lol

I was wondering if you would rent me a 3'x6' plot of land on your yard?

Yesterday, Sunday I went detecting with my pal who owns a tesoro Cortes. (Cost him around 750 bucks.) I used the Garrett Ace 250, ($200.00). After 2 hours the Ace performed equally as well as the more expensive Cortes. Niether one of us found a damn thing!
But after work today I went to a fairly new high school and found over a buck in clad and a nice silver heart.

lol i bought this old home from my grandmother in 1994.she died 2 weeks later. its too big of a home for me, but its got alot of history.ive been retoring it,31 new windows,4 new doors, new roof and siding,2 new decks, kitchen, etc. etc. needs more cosmetic and im done.oh yeah...need to dig up the rest of the yard!!! lol

What has happened to this forum? I tried to upload a pic, and NOTHING!! I'm trying for the 4th time, so here goes!! Fond this at a soccer field, Sens. 50% (4 bars) notched in as a nickle.

Here's a dropped .52 Spencer rimfire CW era cartridge found with the 250. The coins were found
in the same area, but with my old 1000 PM.

Will try posting two pics, the ring is 14k white gold and appears to have six diamonds. Found in a park, read like foil

Haven't found a big treasure trove with my ACE 250 yet, but that's not why I bought it in the first place. I got it as a backup for another brand of detector that cost many hundred dollars more. Found that I was using the ACE 250 more than the competitor's higher dollar detector. Due to performance of the ACE 250 I upgraded my other detector to the GTI 2500 Pro. Now I use the ACE to do a quick survey of a selected site just to see what's close to the surface and to remove a lot of the "junk" before I get into serious deep detecting with my Garrett GTI 2500. The a ACE is so light weight and quick to use it is ideal for that use plus a backup for my "big" machine for club hunts. Interesting enough, in a recent club hunt a 13 year old kid kicked my butt severely using his ACE against my 2500! If the ACE 250 had about a 10" coil available it would be the perfect club hunt machine! (Club hunts are competitive seeded hunts sponsored by various treasure hunting clubs). JIM

He kicked your butt because the target response and recovery on the 250 is lightning fast and leaves the 2500 way behind in that respect.

I have been doing research on metal detectors for the past couple of days and want a metal detector for $200-$300 that will detect relics. I live in Fredericksburg, VA and in my area, some of the most biggest battles of the Civil War were fought, so I was wondering if the ACE 250 would be good for this type of detecting? Civil War relics is my primary mission and then coins are next. Originally, I was looking at some of the Bounty Hunters, but I read negative reviews about them so I started looking into Garrett and found nothing but positive reviews about the ACE 250. Thanks a bunch y'all!!!
