I decided to take the yeller feller back to the button beach today and work the turf to see if I could find any of these mystery buttons that are supposed to be left over from when they burned the british military uniforms during the yellow fever epidemic in the 1860's. Luck was not on my side or perhaps I'm still working the wrong beach because I didn't find much today. I didn't have much of a time as the weather was cold and the wind was gusting to 50 knots with rain on the horizon. I managed an hour before the rain drove me back to the jeep and cover but I did spy gold on my way back to the jeep. Eyeballed it and couldn't believe the irony of making such a find on Valentine's Day, no good for me as a married man but gold is gold.
