You won't believe what I found on Valentine's Day - Gold and I eyeballed it!

I decided to take the yeller feller back to the button beach today and work the turf to see if I could find any of these mystery buttons that are supposed to be left over from when they burned the british military uniforms during the yellow fever epidemic in the 1860's. Luck was not on my side or perhaps I'm still working the wrong beach because I didn't find much today. I didn't have much of a time as the weather was cold and the wind was gusting to 50 knots with rain on the horizon. I managed an hour before the rain drove me back to the jeep and cover but I did spy gold on my way back to the jeep. Eyeballed it and couldn't believe the irony of making such a find on Valentine's Day, no good for me as a married man but gold is gold.

Cheers,

Ha!

I suppose Magnum might be beter than gold in some situations!

I thought about hunting, but decided that it would not be in the best spirit of Valentine's Day mate. OBTW, nice duo on the 6-ply gig, nice to not have to wear those anymore, huh?

True story BDA... I found a wedding band eyeballing it on the beach on top of a similar piece of gold last year.. :)

I thought it was a mediocre hunt with an ironic twist considering it was Valentine's Day. I posted the identical post on a different forum and it was banned after a few of those members had a little fun with the humour of it. I know my sense of humour is a little twisted for regular folks but as a Pirate it gave me a chuckle.
Was I wrong or are the folks on the other forum just too sensitive?? I sure would like some feedback from my fellow pirates as I'm thinking about leaving the other forum over this.

Cheers,

BDA:cool:

I think don't think there is anything wrong with posting what you found.. relic hunters on our board are always posting the old 3 Merry Widows tins they find... We are adults here and I think can handle it ;)

Hey BDA I found you! I will start looking at this beach sub forum a bit now.

I am also on the other site with BDA. I did not see a problem with the post at all. I also post here on the X-Terra 70 sub forum.

I hope you all do not mind if I try to get some beach info outa ya'll. My in-laws have a place at Emerald Isle NC. I want to do a bit of sand fishing. So I will drop in to ask questions if it is ok, Beale.

bda , I am not offended and I have seen allot of other things worse than your post. Hay it was a gold find any way you look at it. They pass those out to our school kids now a days. HH

I've been a parks and schools hunter for years, as well as water. I've found unused "product" like yours, as well as empty wrappers, and even (shudder) "used" product.

nothing wrong, that i can see, you can go into your drugs stores and see those things. not to mention they are giving them out to school kids. i thought it was funny. because you did it with good taste. if we worried about offending anybody then we wouldnt be able to leave the house.

There's a nice bunch of aspiring pirates on this other forum but as I told them 'You can Hang a Pirate but you Can't Gag a Pirate!' I have no stomach for political correctness carried to these lengths so I'm doing what any Pirate would do under the circumstances. I'm hoisting anchor and making sail to a forum where a Pirate can be a Pirate.
Thanks Mates,

Hey BDA you will be missed. I will come here to talk at you. Oh by the way I do not like PC stuff myself, Beale.

Hey BDA, I hear ya man. I was threatened with being banned from that other forum for posting a LINK to a post over on this forum. I didn't mean anything by it, but figured I would save those who had seen it over here from having to see it again (and myself a little TYPING!) and just put a one-sentence post and a link to it over here. WRONG! The forum admin told me essentially "Do it again and you're gone". Well, I don't got there much anymore.

If you ask me, HE needs one of those things you found. And he needs to stretch it over his head!
