Just seen his CZ-70 pro up for trade for a CoinStrike. Yep, he has been bitten by the new detector bug

At least he is trading up  for a great machine for what he wants to do.

Go get em Wayne!!!! :detecting:

Lets see...if I receive C$ this week...

Next weekend spend a couple hours in the field, questioning my sanity, searching for the perfect tree to wrap the CS around.

The following weekend admit to myself that I made a mistake, but take it out again just to make sure. Again find the perfect donor for a "Tree$trike".

The following weekend wallow in my pitty of having a detector I can't tame.

The weekend after that dig a zinc penny. And a couple pounds of junk. Maybe I'll figure the machine out?

The next weekend dig a zinc penny and a dime. Proceed to wrap around tree.

Fast forward 50 or so hours. Relish in the satisfaction that I made the right choice. Admire my beautiful collection of rare gold and silver coins, jewelry, and relics.

Ok, wish me luck.

Don't try to run the threshold too high, and the trees should be safe. lol..
I ran mine too hot for a long time and hated it some days. I've found running the threshold back to around -25 to -35 and keeping the sens. up as high as possible looses very little depth on targets in clean areas and even gains depth in areas with iron and trash all around. My #1 setting now after using the C$ every sense they first came out is -35 and 10 sens.

Now, that sounds exactly like me, but then again there are some who picked it up a lot quicker then 40 or so hours Like Mike Hillis. I think he was up and running right out of the box. You have some folk who are more into the electronics aspect of detecting then others. I am not one of them. But believe me, it's about to get sooooooo gooooood you won't be able to tand it. I envy you!

Lets see, if I remember right the first day I was discovering that I could save the preset settings in all three memory locations without even knowing it

THEN finding out that when I pinpointed, the whole planet was made of iron or I was picking up the iron core (picking up the coil wire)

THEN I remember standing in the light drizzle waving my coil around in the air trying to find out where that +73 was coming from

Yep..that was a head shaking day, but it got better.

Happy CoinStriking :detecting:

when I first got it. I was swingin the coil, noticed a penny on the ground after I swung the coil and the C$ wouldn't even make a sound when I passed the coil over it. I took it home put it back in the box and even went on one of those detector review sites and posted how it wouldn't even hit on a penny.

A couple of days later, after I cooled off and re-thought the situation, I took the C$ back out of the box and re-assembled it and re-read the manual and realized that I had zinc pennies descriminated out. Boy did I feel like an idoit. Now before I make a review I make blamed sure that I check and recheck everything because I sure did an injustice to the C$.

I got a good one too from my first C$ experience. I'd told the local dealer that I wanted a C$ as soon as they were available. He got one of the first ones and called me up to come over and check it out. I got there and he warned me that I wouldn't be impressed. Of course, being right when they came out, no one knew yet about the factory preset being too hot for most places. So anyhow, I take the detector to his test garden and this thing absolutely sucked. Erratic was an understatement. So I passed on that one but "stayed tuned" on the C$'s and kept thinking what could have been wrong when I tested it initially. I mean I KNEW that Fisher wouldn't put out a top of the line detector that functioned like this one. Well, after further investigation I found out there was an underground dog fence nearby that was raising havoc AND that dealer was using aluminized paint to mark where the targets were, so actually I was trying to read through solid aluminum particles, in horrific RF interference, with the thing running way too hot to boot. The C$ went from an apparent piece of crap to one of my favorites and the rest is history.

after that intial test to have pursued it further. I'll tell you, the C$ reminds me of a red headed step child and what I mean by that is, no matter what the C$ does it won't ever be right with some people and it will be looked down on and all the time it wasn't the machine, just the circumstances.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.... I think the C$ is the most misunderstood, most underestimated highly capable detector on the market. If I hadn't investigated further from my first impression, I'd have missed out too. It's gotta be tough for Fisher to come up with something so effective and different only to have the general detecting public not accept it to a large degree.
