You really don't get them all-old scout camp

My brother and I have been hitting an old scout camp over and over. Lately it has been me going solo because of schedules and hitting newer ground together. I'm guessing the camp was put into use in the early 50's. At first, I thought it might have been earlier but considering the age of the oldest coins (1915 & 1916) and when the surrounding area was developed, I'll go with the early 50's. Anyway, the area has been detected under every weather condition short of having the ground frozen. You think you have gotten just about every coin out of there and each trip still produces under different sensitivity settings and different soil conditions. Right now we are at 216 coins of which 15 have been silver. Oldest penny was 1915 and oldest dime was 1916. No walking liberties and no buffalo heads which is a surprise. Haven't kept track but probably have 50 plus wheats.

You hear over and over you don't get them all and this place confirms it. It just amazing when you think how many hours we have hit this 3 acre area and it continues to produce. I'm looking forward to some rain, cooler weather and hitting the a couple of hundred year old homesites about 60 miles from St. Louis. Good diggin everyone.

Boy scout camps usually cover large areas and camp sites are constantly being changed. Once read you could spend years on a football field without covering completely so you can understand why...they don't get em all...
