I started detecting less than a month ago with an All Vision Pro I found at a swap meet for $30. Without a manual to figure it out, I found a couple of gold rings, lots of coins and ubiquitous iron!
I was hooked!

I took a breath and purchased a Cobra and promptly sent it back as it couldn't detect the dimes or pennies I buried, just the quarters! (May have just been a faulty one) I was back to the drawing board wondering what to buy...:surrender:

I kept coming back to this forum and kept reading about the Excalibur... and all the success stories.

Well ~ I think I must be crazy but I just ordered one and am looking forward to my maiden voyage with it soon!

I live in West Palm so if there are anyone out there who has any tips for me on the Excalibur or hunting in WPB I would be happy to hear from you!
Kellyco is probably breathing a collective sigh of relief as I won't be calling them daily for a while now!

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to encourage me in this new hobby/addiction...I really appreciated your advice.

I feel I can now go out there ~ and run with the big dogs!:clapping:

My maiden voyage with the excal produced my first GOLD ring......during a storm ...a Nor Easter in York Maine....almost got sucked out to sea by the rugged undertow but was thrilled in finding my first GOLD RING!!....It is the most stable unit.....I have a hate love relationship with it.....it is kinda funky sounding but it is awsome......what I hated about it was I would get a signal in manual with disc. set to 0(iron only disc.) and then pin point it and get no signal....so I knew it was deep....but could not pin point it......I bent the heck out of my scoop prying and digging deep with it..had to up grade scoop...now that one has a crack in it......it is awsome......I need a back hoe....:ranting:

Hey G,

My sister "Stacey in West Palm Beach" is the VP of the Gold Coast Treasure Club down there and also uses an Excal. You have made a good move in buying the Excal as it blows away the competition. I and many others have been very successful with ours. You need to get together with Stacey and her friends down there...she can show you the ropes on the Excal and they go on trips to South Beach and other places to detect all the time. I'll shoot her a link to this post and I'm sure she'll chime in. Happy hunting!

G. good move getting the Excal. I spent a few days on Singer Island this past summer and my Excal. worked great in that area. I wish you good luck and HH.

Hey there, G!

Welcome to the world of Excal! I live in West Palm Beach and would be happy to assist you with the finer points of the Excal. Like my brother Mike (Virginia Beach) said, I travel around South Florida to hunt when I can with friends and other members of the Gold Coast Treasure Club. Our next club meeting is on November 8th at 7:30 p.m. You should go! Unfortunately I will be in Washington, DC for business that week, but PM me and I'll make sure you have all the info you need to get to our club. Also, we can plan to meet at a local beach to hunt, if you want. This weather, work and other factors have kept me from hunting too much lately, but I want to get out there again soon - hopefully this Sunday.

You'll love the Excal. Drop me a PM if you want to chat more about it. I haven't been able to spend much time lately on the forums, so a PM is best...

Congrats on the new toy! :clapping:

it will more than make up the extra cost. You can call anytime, hopefully with reports of gold that you have found. Good luck!
