me and the wife are battling because i want another detector and she wants me to sell before i buy another but i the only one im willing to part with is my coil modded compadre ..... but all this mojave talk got me ready to order, i sent probably 15 emails to different detector shops to try and get the best price before i order

Just do it, once its in the house, too late.....................:clapping:

That's how I started, eventually she won't give a hoot. Or give you the boot.

Once you get the Mojave you won't need the modded compadre. Sell it.

thats why its the only one im willing to let go.. i tried selling in on craigslist.. kept getting low balled they said i ruined it by modding it lol so i would ask them why they were interested i think it was the same guy using different email addresses

Just tell your wife you will make sure you go detecting enough to pay it off in a year all by itself. Tell her even if you have to go every day for several hours at a time. $1 dollar a day, 365, paid off!

Had probably the same guy tell me I ruined a old White's 6000 Di Series 3, he hadn't a clue what he was talking about, gave him an earful.................

Must admit in all the years that i have been detecting have never had any resistance from the wife regarding detectors or detector related equipment, she is aware that i do have possibly a few but has no idea how many exactly, have a dedicated 5th bedroom/mancave with all the detectors etc are in and just had a quick count and have 23 detectors and 45 coils ;)

Just tell her that she has first choice of the lady's rings you find....

23 detectors.... Daaaaamnitman!..... thats a whole bunch of gadgetry

I know noone's gonna like this, but I got offa the bandwagon and started using instead of collecting my detectors. It took me a!most 50 years to wise up.

Doesn't work, they already know that so they already let it slide knowing you will end up with several, just give you a hard time of it.
It's one of their bargooning chips if they have to use it.
You can always get away with having at least two, one can be claimed as a back-up.....................

Sling, I don't get a new one till my last one has paid for itself. Kinda of a challenge.

I fixed it I traded the wife on a compadre I still had to pay a few dollars but over all was happy with the deal I got :bouncy:

Lol AJ

I tell the wife that either I can buy another metal detector or I can stay right at home with her and we can spend quality time together. She asks if I have enough money for the new metal detector...... :detecting:

About 3 years ago we received some inheritance money and my wife graciously let me get the MX5. I love it and just can't believe I would want to dig deeper than that thing goes. Sorta reminds me of my CZ5 I sold-but with more info.

My wife is fairly understanding, but she does think I have too many. She's probably right as far as NEED, but want and enjoy is another whole category and it seems to be pretty catching from what I read in the forums.
