I hit the front yard and driveway of this old farm house one afternoon and got a nice 1916 Merc and 06 IH. Went back Thursday last week and started swinging. Got a nice tone (85 VDI) in the dirt/grass driveway but it disappeared when swinging the other directions (90,180,270 degrees). Odd, but iron grunts made me think I was iron falsing. Then I noticed that I had dug it before; huh? Must have thought it was iron. For some reason, I removed the plug. The Pro Pointer showed nothing, but then this thing was on the ground next to the hole. I picked it up and thought it was a clad quarter; it had been only 2-3 inches under the ground. Well, long story, not so long, it's a 1942 Quarter. This one really fooled me. It looks like it's been buried in saltwater sand for ages. Well, here's to silver.
