FINALLY GOT SOME TIME TODAY TO HIT THE WOODS FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS, FIRST TIME SINCE MAY. FOUND A FEW BULLETS , 1936 HALF DOLLAR WITH 3 BUFFALO NICKELS AND SOMETHING REAL INTERESTING. I VENTURED OUT QUITE A DISTANCE FROM THE NORMAL AREA I'VE BEEN HUNTING AND WENT DOWN TO THE SWAMP. GOT A GOOD SOLID ROUND READING JUST NEXT TO THE SWAMP WHERE EVERYTHING TURNS TO MUSH AND DUG UP A PIECE OF BRASS SHAPED LIKE AN ARROW HEAD. I THOUGHT RIGHT OFF THIS WAS SOME KIND OF UNIQUE CORE BADGE OR SOMETHING.AFTER CLEANING IT OFF I SAW IT WAS AN ARROW HEAD MADE OF BRASS IN PERFECT CONDITION. BUT WRITTEN ON IT WAS, 1924 VIRGINIA LICENSED CHAUFFEUR #866. NOW THIS AREA IS WAY BACK IN THE WOODS, IN A SWAMP,THE OAK TREES ARE HUGE, AND THERES NO SIGN OF ROAD BEDS OR ANY HUMAN DISRUPTIONS TO THE AREA. EVEN TODAY ITS ALONG WAY FROM EVERYTHING. THIS PIECE IS NOT A CIVIL WAR RELIC, WHICH IS WHAT I MAINLY LOOK FOR, BUT IT CERTAINLY HAS A HISTORY. I SPENT THE REST OF THE DAY WONDERING WHAT IN THE WORLD THIS OLE BOY WAS DOING OR WHAT WAS GOING ON WHEN HE DROPPED HIS CHAUFFEURS BADGE. MAKES YOU WONDER DOESN'T IT? ANYWAY, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I COULD FIND OUT IF THIS PIECE HAS ANY $ WORTH. THERES COLLECTORS OUT THERE FOR JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING. NOT THAT I WOULD SELL IT, I KEEP ALL MY FINDS, BUT IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO FIND OUT.
