I never ask a feller to give up his prized diggin' spot, but I can't help myself; where can I digs some them shrimps and salmen's? My tongue slapped my hat off when I spied those two plates :)

But have never had the opp to hunt with him or sit down and talk relics. Thank you immensely for the invite...offshore fishing? Now that got my attention :) Nothing like line screaming off a reel...and I've got a 14/0 with 1100 yards of 100# test. Been losing Mac Daddy sized Wahoo. They keep cutting my 135lb braided wire at the loop knot. Any suggestions?

I can answer that one for you David. Lose the braided, it's ok for small school kings but not the smokers.
Use a quality ball bearing swivel at the end of your mono and a good long piece of single strand #8 86lb. test Calcutta wire about 6-8' down to your hook and FORGET about getting cut off because it aint gonna happen again.
Braided wire is fine but when a big fast fish like a Hoo or King starts making a turn and tail wraps against it, the braided won't hold up.

Mike

I've got some Calcutta bronze wire, I'll go to that. GH, David
