You know what dives me crazy about THing videos?

You are right, John, there is a lot of coin rubbing going on in those videos. Maybe trying for a cleaner coin for a better camera shot or curious about the date, HH jim tn

Why watch them then. There's a couple of fresh hearts that are taping some videos. And their getting better. Look for "Silverslingers" on a few other forums.
They're different, and young.

Yea, I have been able to watch about 2 dozen videos featuring folks using the AT Pro. Learned a lot.

What drives me nutz are those who video finding a coin and then they just stare at it trying to guess what it might be. It's a DUG COIN, never going to be worth much more than a DUG COIN unless it is supper rare and those I never see get rubbed. Have you ever tried to value a DUG COIN be it rubbed or not? Yup, might as well see what it is in the field. Doesn't mean you need to scrub it but you can dare take a look at the date.

Out of the hundreds of thousands of coins I've seen dug over the years at the most maybe 2-3 were coins the finder regretted field cleaning. OK lottery players, yes they is always someone who wins so I suppose you have a chance as well. Again I say I have yet to see someone rub a coin in a video and regret it later. We carry a small medicine bottle of water just in case.

I agree with these coins have been out in the elements for 50-100 years. No sense getting worked up over a little rub.

Most of the folks who make them just rub the heck out of the found coins with dry dirt on them.....don't know why.......

 I still get choked off now and then when I see that.
