You Know....The More I Think About The Ground Balance Window Feature.....The More I Realize How Much Of A New Great Piece Of Technology It Really Is :

To me, it's almost a new leap in technology engineering compared to some of the older style multi-frequency metal detectors available today. On the older multi-frequency detector end, you get the best frequency chosen for the particular ground conditions, and on the opposite end, Garrett's new technology on the AT Gold sets up the ideal conditions using the Ground balance Window spread to allow the one frequency to penetrate and give a good signal. A great piece of new technology and very genius too!

Another Garrett exclusive on the AT Gold.

I just read up on it in the instruction manual. It will be interesting to know how it will perform on the goldfields. I took the X-Terra onto a very noisy goldfield a while back. (The ground noise was quite significant.)That location would give it a real workout. Sounds like it might improve a VLF detect in goldfield situations.

P.S. It would be good to read more iunfo on it.

I have also read the manual and understand what it says. Garrett has pointed out this feature in their advertising so I am sure there is a significant change from the At Pro. However at this time I am not prepared to say that I really understand all of the differences between the two ground balance systems. The At Pro is pretty forgiving on ground balance settings as it is. Looking forward to more information on the subject as it is made available.

I agree John...I really look forward to using one of these AT Gold's and give that GB window a workout. The ground around here where I live averages on the AT Pro to GB around 91-93. The GB window should see improvements here. Will find out in October!

They may get rid of that 70 width on the AT Pro with one that is adjustable to a width of 10 to 15 on the AT Gold.
