Met up with a buddy "Barry" and hunted a new place, which I had done some research a few years back. I used my wireless system on the GTI 2500/Sniper coil as the saplings, bushes and weeds were just too annoying. I sampled the same place yesterday, and was just overwhelmed by the density of the growth there. He also used the sniper coil on his GTI 1500.
It sure was an interesting hunt, as we found so many interesting items going back 30, 50, 80.....even over a 100 years. The telltale signs of a picnic area were evident everywhere. We were digging lots of buried tinfoil. And as seen above, canning jars, old metal plates, wash basin and a porcelain container were showing up in various places.
Too funny! I found part of an old bed, and upon further investigation, found a label indicating that the bed was actually a surgical bed. You just never know what you will find on a hunt sometimes.
Just under a tree I got a good coin sounding signal...and low and behold, out popped an old earring. It has no stamps at all, so it is hard to tell if it is gold plated or even how old it is. But an interesting find non-the-less.
I eyeballed the front end of this truck, thinking it was an old piece of duct work from an old house. When I pulled the remaining portion out of the ground, I was astonished to find a child's very old metal dump truck. Aside from the missing wheels, it was in pretty good shape. I put a dime on the hood to show it's size.

Here are some other interesting items we dug. A couple of older lighters, an old lamp of some sort and a recent glass water hash pipe. Some poor druggie lost a GOOD one. I also found a wad of credit cards, and turned them in at a police station on the way home.
After 3-4 hours of getting slapped in the face with branches, having my baseball cap knocked off my head numerous times, getting poked in the face with twigs and removing spider webs with my face, we headed to a new location where a creek runs near by.
I went down to the creek, and being that the water was low, I searched the gravel. My only signal turned out to be a nice old (silver plated) cigarette case.
After a couple hours, we were just pure pooped out. Here's the bottles that I dug after some cleaning.
My buddy Barry got these fantastic old coins. The 3 oldest were found in a spill, along with another large cent (not shown) which someone had either put on the railway tracks or flattened it with a hammer. There is no date showing on it.
So it goes..... another great hunt. And here we are on November with no snow! Life is good
