Last week while hunting, I kept hearing this thumping noise. Sounded like cars going over a speed bump. (I was in a park) After a pretty good clad hunt, I walked around a building and saw a skateboard park. Went back real early this morning, there was trash laying around. Mostly plastic bottles. 4 to 8 ft grass fringe around it. Now this was a job made for the Compadre. 2 1/2 hrs of non stop coin plucking. 106 coins, $8.50 65 pennies & there's still some left. This skateboard area been there for about 6 yrs and I didn't know it. If I hadn't taken that walk to check out that noise I would not have had the fun I had today.

You just give me an idea. We have one of them skate board spots. I just might have to give it a try. Thanks..... KEN

It never hurts to have your eyes and ears open for new places to detect. You just never know what you might find. Some of the best looking places turned out to be worthless and some of the not so good looking places really paid off. You just never know until you give it a try.

OH yea .You do never know for sure. I recently detected an 1865 Home site.. Visions of Old Silver and maybe even a couple large cents.. I got exactly 4 memorial pennies at 4" deep.. Nothing else.. other than junk iron. The more I detected the more it looked like 15" of top soil had been spread and seed grass planted all around.. I hunted it for 4 days....

Boy was I disappointed !!!

Elton, I think that all the really good looking easily accessible sites have all been hit super hard. That's why I look for places that don't look too promising because others may have passed over them. Finding a little of something is better than finding nothing at all.:)
