that the MXT is to be my next detector and by the way it sounds the 6x10 dd is a great optional coil to go with. I thank you all ladies and gentlemen.

You will like it for its a good machine . It took me awhile to get use to the threshold noise as I was use to a silent type machine , but it doesn't bother me now that I got use to it . Good luck when you get yours and good hunting ...

I don't think you'll be sorry at all. I wish you luck and great finds. Keep us posted! HH, Nancy

The good thing is ......you will soon see for yourself how great the MXT is!

And yes .... the 6x10 is the way to go. The only time I would use the stock coil is
at the beach.

Happy Hunting!

WTG on getting the mxt you will like it and soon grow to love it.

I guess you could call me an ole horse trader I'm always looking for something to trade and I'm subject to trade most anything I got.
My son's always joking with me saying you can trade your mxt and I answer him real quick that my mxt is not going anywhere to me other than my family it's my most valuable treasure.
If you've never used one it will take a little time to learn what she's saying and I tell you she does talk an awful lot but when you do the both of ya together will make a great team and there's no limit to what you'll find.

The mxt is one fine machine and combined with the 6x10 coil it's a coin killer. It would also be a good ideal to get The mxt edge by Jeff Foster. Lot's of good reading to help you really learn your detector.

Two solid choices jw. Since I learned how to properly ground balance and stabilize my detector optimally, I've been able to get solid accurate signals from my 6x10 to 7"+. My soil here runs 40's to low 70's and I can run that coil witth the gain maxed at +3 much of the time. You'll love them. Good luck.

I would also suggest the 4x6 shooter if you ever hunt real trashy areas, u can't beat the combo of the 6x10 & the 4x6.

As you can see jw, not only is the MXT with the 6x10 a great combo, but there's a LOT of coils you can pair it up with. ( I currently have five but I'm still working on getting the 4x6 ) That not only gives it the versatility to be able to hunt in many different situations but to be able to hunt them VERY effectively. My personal quiver in order of acquisition was stock 950 (w/ machine purchase), 6x10 DD ( love it in any situation, great separation and good depth), 5.3 (high trash specialist, I don't use often as I've been fortunate w/ regards to trash), 10"D2 ( same as 6x10 but deeper and more coverage, great coil ) and the Super 12" coil ( part of a trade deal, Haven't used much but like it already ) JMHO Hope that helps down the line. Good luck.

I've got the same collection as you except don't have the 10"D2, but do have the 4X6 shooter. It has helped me pull goodies out of extreme trash I couldn't hunt with larger coils and with the sensitivity tuned down a bit will let you get surprisingly close to fences, playground equipment etc. Definitely a keeper for those situations. You'll love it when you finally get around to getting one.
