You guys know your ring markings?

I can't find a site or any info on the markings that are in the ring I found. It reads..."Solid X Gold" and thats it. Maybe its fake or something but there is no tarnish. Any ideas? It was down around 9 inches.
 
Jim, I just found an old ring today at a park that goes back to civil war times that is stamped the same. What did u find out about yours?

Here is a pic of the inside. There is another stamp next to the "solidxgolg" that looks like an "S" but I can't be certain.
