Go ahead put your name in it. Get prepared to see a close up picture of your house, how many people live in your house, home phone number and if you're old be prepared to know the criminals will now know if you happen to be in your 80's. If you're by yourself and old this is really cute.

If you pay more you can probably get even more information. Pretty devastating I would think for a woman being stalked or an ex planning something nefarious.

That gets my blood boiling. Any pervert in the world can see where I live, and my family info. Technology is as big of a curse as it is a blessing.

Get ready, this stuff is only gonna get worse. Pretty soon when you dig up a signal, someone somewhere will know what it is before you do

They have very little info on me. It looks like info from face book. Ive started denying more access to even my friends. Call me paranoid. I DONT have a home phone and use an air card fro my computer. I looked at where they said i lived LOL.... man they arent even close. When we used to travel we were really off the grid and we try not to give out much info.

The world is changing at a fast pace. Privacy has become a thing of the past. You can't even cheat a little and break the speed limit without some city sending you a speeding citation in the mail. All of this reminds me of George Orwell's book (1984). "Big Brother is watching you," has become a reality. Just had to say all this.

I'm sure they have some people dead on, but they missed me by a LONG shot. They don't even have me in there but have my Dad at my address who lives 200 miles away. The house picture is three blocks off too. Maybe I don't exist........ must have gotten their info from my ex.........

Old Information. Said I was married!!!, Have not been married since 1988. What a Laugh!!! Jesse. Oh yeah, I wish my House was worth that much, I would sell tomorrow and move to Virginia!!!

I'd love to know how it got such good street level photos of my neighbors houses, mine, my trucks, etc. All about 5 months old. My wife's mother is listed as late 80's and living by herself. Lists her address and her phone number. How convenient for thieves. Same exact information on my parents including their age, phone number and address. Yech...

[size=large]nothing that three other sites including dex, doesn't have. this stuff has been out for a long time.
one scam out there is family geaneology. my brother and son both bought into it. they recieved a book with the family name and supposedly everyone with that name in the world. it got my little brother correctly but lsted my dad in the wrong place and listed my son at an address he was at for only two months. all while not listing me even though i was in the same house for thirty years. this is why your told to check your credit rating every year. bogus info is out there on you. so while you're detecting " Big Brother " is watching. he wants to tax your finds.

As widebody saod this is nothing new. You could find the same info if you knew where to look 10 years ago. 5 years ago it was a bit easier. Today as you can see it is all over the internet.

That being said it was dead wrong on me. It showed an address that is 3+ years old for me. The rest of it I only wish were true. The money thing on there (house hold income or whatever) was WAY off. I only wish I made that much yearly. Dunno about any other info because I didnt pay for the subscription. I only assume it is as inaccurate as the rest of it. Honestly there is less info there then one could get with a local phone book or its internet counterpart. Most state law inforcement agencies offer a subscription background check that pretty much anyone can get that reveals much more info at about the same cost.

I understand your point and agree but at the end of the day what can you do? The only information they can get is the information you have allowed to be out there. I am an avid shooter and hunter and as I have always expressed about my firearms...they can only come and take the ones they know about...which by the way is none!

They were about a mile off on my house location....that's good.....right address wrong house.........The photo looks like a Google Earth photo, and they are more current in large urban locations. The farther out in the country seems like even the Google Earth images aren't updated as often...........

A couple more eye opening sites:

www.zillow.com has data about your house, value, and a google maps view of where it is at

www.zabasearch.com lots of companies use this site to track people down to collect debts

Well, they couldn't find me. My name isn't common, but there were 7 results.....not even close. Live at the same address for 10 years.

The vast majority of these sites (there are 100s, if not 1000s) build their sites based on public records (usually DMV databases). These are huge (i.e. anyone who drives a car) and are generally not subject to expunging (... you will NEVER get your state to remove your driving record/information). This is also why there are some discrepancies between real-time and the returned results (i.e. you moved, but your driver's license info wasn't updated, etc).

The only real difference in the site mentioned by Guvner is that they are using Google Maps (Street View or other views) to show the address in question. But even this is technically public information - I could see the same thing as the Google image if I was driving/walking/biking/MDing down Guvner's street.

Aside from the technical/legal aspects, I would agree with the fact that these sites make it much more convenient for technically-savvy bad guys. Unfortunately.

My basic info is a little outdated but still more than I would want everyone to know and the map is right on . Thanks for bringing this into the light Guv .
