I started out Metal detecting 8 years ago. I had some old toy radio shack detector, and Like the Ace 250 guys I would go out and find some really neat stuff. Trouble was I'd find very little of it!

Now...8 Years later I sit back and see all the great finds you Ace 150, and 250 guys and gals are finding, and I can only wish that I had the start with a great detector like you guys are using. Apparently the 150 & 250 are great detectors! And they are giving everyone, beginners and seasoned pros, an earned bragging right with this Garrett low priced top line detector!

It just amazes me to no end to and blesses me to see you guys having so much fun!

*Now let's go detecting!

LOL...I went through the same thing once years ago.
Well, actually I didn't buy the thing, but one of my
brothers did, and I used it a few times. I found it fairly
useless. Of course, this was way back when radio shack
detectors were little more than toys. Some of their later
models are a good bit better I'm sure, as they are made
by one of the bigger companies. But it was real hard to tell
true targets from just changes in ground. I dug *lots* of
empty holes. I once lost a shotgun tube magazine in one of
my .410 shotguns. I took that cheapy detector there, and
never found nada. I also tried it on whatever?, but rarely
found much. You would show constant meter movements like a
hit, but most were bogus. The ace detectors are not even
in the same ballpark. So far, mine doesn't freak out with
ground changes. If it beeps, it's almost always actually
some kind of metal. I found more in one hour with the ace,
than the whole time we had that old radio shack thing.
It was a true toy. Course, it was real cheap though. The aces
cost a bit more, even with inflation, but at least they aren't
toys. I guess basically, you get about what you pay for.
