You don't need a water MDer for this stream

I did two hours at Doc's old house today. Nothing great, but had fun. Here is the trash total.

One wheat hasn't cleaned up yet, so it is still soaking. The small ball is lead. The other one isn't made out of metal. I found it in one of my holes I dug. It is not glass. The big thing across the top looks like it was the top of an iron fence. Three wheat's total:1911, 1950 and ?

This is from my week end trip. I took the Ace,but spent the time with my wife and friends. We stopped at a mountain top resort. We had cheesecake and coffee, while we watched the sun set. You should have seen the look on the inn keeper's wife, where we stayed, when I put a bag of my finds in her hands. Nothing great, just the trashy ones I got over the last two weeks. She said she could sense the history in her hands and wanted to know all about MDing. She has got it bad and she doesn't even have a detector yet.I didn't need a water MDer for this stream. It went underground. The only reason you see some water is because it rained. When it rains hard this stream bed will fill up because the cave underneath can't handle all the water.

8 miles down stream the water comes back to the surface above this falls.

One of our other stops was to tour this radio telescope. It is the largest movable man made object on land. I wasn't allowed to take my digital camera any closer because of interference. Pictures don't show the true size of it. A football field can easily fit inside of it.

The pictures you post of where you moved cease to amaze me. Keep them coming.

John,
The ball is a clay marble. My grandfather use to save them and give them to me when he found them plowing/working in the garden.
Looks like Lost River and Etam Earth Station? I use to go hunting a lot when growing up at Rio, near Lost River.

John,
You must live fairly close to Snowshoe. My wife and I ski there every year.
Maybe we could get together and MD,; there are some fantastic Civil War sites in WV. I am about 1 1/2 hours from Snowshoe.
