:ranting:Just got off the phone with First Texas. I was trying to order a plastic coil connecting screw for my 1266X. They said they would send me one free of charge about a month ago (which I never recieved). Now they are saying that they have a "new policy" and that ANY part will cost a minimum of $30.00:surprised: I think its going to get pretty tough now to get Fisher parts. Thats probably why there are so many of them on Ebay now. I absolutely love my Fisher 1266X. Has anyone else had this problem yet? HH, DF.

for parts for a few years. The last I purchased it was a $25. minimum purchase for parts.

I can fully understand why the minimum charge.

I did forget to mention that you can go to a Home Depot or a Lowes store, and get a nylon bolt that will work.

You can use a brass screw, and just about any screw. A metal screw will have no affect on your detector as it's moving with the coil.

I think many detector company's want you to go though your local dealer for any parts you need to keep the cost down. Now any Fisher dealer should have these in stock for you if he is a full service dealer. I know as a Minelab dealer our order now have to be $50 or more and when we order we just add the few extras like coil bolt to the order for those that need them.
If you don't want a stock nut and bolt than you can do what other say and go to the hardware store and find something that will work for you.

I needed a new battery holder for my 1280x and a manual. They was gonna send it for free but I never got it either.I would have gladly paid for it but not 30 bucks.I found the batt holder at Radio Shack for a few bucks, works fine:))
