I just got contacted from a small church that is about 20 minutes away from my house, he said the little town but I forgot it already...he just gave me directions to it....THEY LOST A URN! The pastor said they have a general idea where they buried it but are not exactly sure. I told him "YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME". He was very sorry and that he got my name from one of his worshipers and told me that the head stone for this person has arrived but they don't really know the EXACT location and that they didn't want to let the family know just yet. I told him I would see what I could do tomorrow...HOW DOES SOMETHING LIKE THAT HAPPEN IN THIS DAY & AGE?? I"m not happy about doing this as I feel it is deceitful to the family and very angry for the poor soul!:veryangry:

Anytime there is a problem, there is a solution. You just might be the solution to a very distasteful problem...which would benefit the family. Kelley (Texas) :)

I agree with Kelley, you are helping the Church, sparring the family from much more grief! I think it would be the good Christian thing to do! This could also lead into you asking the Pastor to hunt the church grounds! If this is an old church, there could be some good finds there!

Might be a godsend to the church and family as well wouldn't be the first time a numbered iron peg and the like were found with a metal detector. Remember records are lost or mislaid and may have been years since it was placed...A good deed if you decide to do so...

That should be pretty easy to locate, they don't bury those too deep, probably 2' or so. I would use All-Metal and listen for one heck of a wonk....then let them do the digging. Hmm..I wonder what that will VDI at??

I would do it in a heartbeat. Great opportunity to get good publicity for our hobby. Too much negative things about our hobby now.

If you know some capable with a machine then you should back out and recommend them....allow someone less emotionally involved find the urn. Youre passing judgement already....i wont claim to be a very religious man but is that not un-christian like of you?

Decietfull no - Honerable yes. This stuff happens all the time. If you find it everone (including you) looks like a hero. It's not like your taking a backhoe and digging up bodies to remove thier rings.

Hi, I can't believe you get any negative vibes about this at all. A family and a church needs your help. There was nothing improper about the lost location of this urn. Sometimes areas change or maps are lost. I got the feeling that the church was devastated by this loss and was grasping at anyone who would help them. I know if it were my loved one, I would greatly appreciate anyone who could help locate them, even if I wasn't informed. I just do understand your feelings about this. I get only overwhelming positive vibes about this. If I were in that area I would be honored to help someone in need. Please reconsider your perspective about this and realise just how lucky you are.
