Yo Ho a pirates life for me....

So I got out after work today to a friend from works yard. One I had hunted before with the AT-Pro. I had pulled some clad and older pennies and one young Elizabeth silver dime there in her front yard last time. While I was there she asked if I would try to locate a cotter pin she lost off her lawnmower in the backyard.

It was getting dark but she showed me the backyard and I was saying I should come back when it was light to find it and swinging my coil randomly around. The backyard was pretty clean, not much trash etc showing on the CTX3030, but suddenly I got a strong 12-25 signal. I told her it was just probably a pulltab, but that that was the gold range too. She was joking at the same time I was swinging that we should leave the backyard because her husband was still not sure if he wanted to give me permission to hunt it. Something about him not understanding why I wanted to hunt it, and him saying jokingly that I must know about some buried treasure or something.

She said go ahead and dig it, then we would go back to the front yard. I knelt down, popped a clean plug and reached into the hole and pulled this out.

I knew right away it was gold, the weight and even in the dusk darkness it glimmered. Arrr matey I knows gold when I see's it.

I held it up and jokingly said, "Oh this treasure?"

She stammered for a second then examined it herself and was speechless for abit. We left the backyard and I looked at it under her porch light. I couldn't see any marks, but i told her I'd clean it up and look for marks and then return it to her. I wouldn't feel right taking it, especially since I really didn't have permission for the backyard yet PLUS I'm not a greedy soul. I got it home and looked but there is not marks, so I'm gonna get one of the guys to acid test it for me. I'm betting it's 14k or higher from the yellow color. And the weight is good!

Anyway I got a few other keepers from the front yard too.

Very admirable. There are so many people today giving this hobby a bad reputation on the turf and away it is nice to see someone with some moral values.
Hats off to you. :clapping:
