Just got it today from a forum sponsor and took it to me test garden. It will hit and ID my 9"+ silver dime in manual 26 and above.Hit it in both conductive and ferrous coin modes in ground coin.My soil is bone dry but mild mineral wise.I did not expect it to hit it but it did and with open screen/no disc it hit it even better/harder.....
97 and sunny but am going to take her for a spin in the real world at a local park:detecting:

Will take to practice a bit more coil control after using the monster coil lately lol.

Ray-mo yes the 6 inch coil got some punch 8 inch dime and a penny at 9 inches for me and my grounds not mild but i cheated on the penny using 30 manual but i think it would of hit at +3 24 sensitivity because the dime i hit was a pretty good hit.

Thanks for the report Ray-Mo. Looks like the coil is indeed deep. This is the third report.

Question - You said you got it to hit with some disc and even better without? I hadn't really noticed a difference with disc on or off (on deeper non silver targets). Did you run a minimal disc pattern or more disc on the test garden coin? Thx.

Albert

I was running stock coin mode as disc setting and the open no disc is a bit deeper with all 3 coil sizes for me in my ground. Most soil I hunt in has medium to heavy minerals but my test garden happens to be in very mild soil. Often I will average a suggested sensitivity of 10-14 with no emi at many of my sites.

I agree Ray, it is a depth demon. Open up the screen and crank up the power..... it is a great little coil! HH Randy

Ray-Mo, I'm still on the stock coil seeing spikes of 10-11". Have grabbed a bunch recently running manual 27 which seems to be the limit for my soil, and I also noticed it hits better in really dry soil. I wonder if the actual depth is more like 8-9" if I take into effect the gap between coil and actual dirt from swinging. Still, rally impressed with the CTX and it's over-all depth to hit targets. Gotta git me one of these darn little coils and see what's up! :)
