JUST GOT THE MXT IN THE MAIL------WHATS THE BEST SET UP TO START THE COIN MODE????GOING TO START WITH COIN MODE AND STICK WITH THAT FOR A WHILE.CAN YOU FIND GOLD RINGS IN THIS MODE???

YES YOU CAN FIND GOLD RINGS.
LEARN WITH THE PRESET FIRSTS AND READ AND REREAD BOOKS ON THE MXT.
THE MXT-M6 ARE VERY GOOD DETECTORS....VERY DEEEEEP AND LOTS OF COILS.
GET THE 6X10 AND 5.3 COIL AND THIS DETECTOR WILL HANG WITH THE BEST OF THEM.(YOU CAN GET A 25 INCH COIL IF YOU WANT TO DIG TO CHINA.)

I agree with clondike clad. Work with the presets for awhile and don't worry about the gold rings as they will come as you learn the detector. Read Read Read. HH Dennis in Idaho

I JUST MISSED A 14"EXCELARATOR COIL FOR $145,CHINA HERE I COME,HA,HA,HA.
Yep,read,read, and re-read. The "MXT EDGE" is the best and most detailed out there. It will tell you every thing you need to know and then some. also this link http://nevada-outback-gems.com/MXT_files/MXT_basepage.htm will be helpful as well as this one http://www.ighunters.net/tutorials/mxt.htm.
Enjoy, I've been using mine now for nearly 7 weeks and its a hoot. No gold yet, but I don't think I've been in the right places either.
