Well I have been lurking in the back ground long enough to get some great info from this site, So I thought I would drop in and say hi to all.
I bought a new explorer 11 with two coils Minelab 800 and 1050, I have used it for appr. 10 or 12 hours so far in quick start and just played with the settings available there.(all with the small coil) I have been to sevaral different forums reading all I could to learn and now I am getting confused on a few things.....The manual states
Conductivity is factory preset and is recommended but I have read on several different forums that the ferrous is the one to use? and if I understand it right ferrous will give a low tone for hi ferrous content and a high signal for silver? (which is what I am looking for.)
Also some say to use iron mask and others say no way turn it off ?
I will say that pinpointing is a LITTLE different from what I was use to and is going to take sometime also..LOL

I have some decent finds from the last trip
a handful of nice old buttons and A nice 1874 fish scale (silver 5 cent piece and very small)
Also read that the noise limiter in my Grey ghost H/P's is not a good idea to use with the Explorer . I have a brand new pair of Hoss that came with it also.
