I took up fly tying and now I'm fly fishing. Today I worked on assignments then headed down to the mouth of the Saranac where it meets Lake Champlain. I was using a small coon-tail jig with a float to keep it just off the bottom. I caught a 4-5 lb. largemouth then a 5+ lb. smallmouth. I also caught a decent pike. The best part was while at the river I got to pass on the old fly rod which was given to me, to a new friend who is trying to stay sober.
