Yet ANOTHER battery question???

That post about batteries is really interesting.---So the Oxyrides are probably going to be replaced? Wonder what the time frame on a replacement for them would be?-- Is there anything to that about the Panasonic Oxyrides burning out the control box light? The light on the F75 is on constantly. If Fisher made that statement about light burn out-you would think they would have some grounds for saying it. As I remember-when the Oxyrides first came out-there was some general warning given about not using them in any detectors with a control box light. I think the biggest concern was over light bulb burn out.-----Another question-With the cost of the Oxyrides being higher than a good alkaline-and the fact that GOOD alkalines last so long (in the F75). Is it really worth it to even use Oxyrides?--What would be the benefits (other than longer running time)?---I guess these are questions I always wondered about but was afraid to ask. ha-----Seriously though-I'm now wondering what this replacement for the Oxyrides (that the other gentleman mentioned) will be like for a metal detector.-----Del

I have not had a single problem. The comment you heard about burning out the light bulb might be true if the F75 had a "light bulb" but it doesnt. The back light on the F75 is in the display screen and the power to it is regulated by the circuitry. There is no danger what so ever. The benefit to using Oxyrides? Long life.
