yesterdays hunt

Well I have been gone for awhile & thought it was time to get back into the hunt. I took some time yesterday & hit a few parks just to get some practice. One of the better mdrs around here had told me that it has been slim pickings lately. I decided to try something I have not done before, I set the gain at 11 & the discrimination at max with trigger forward. In about two hours I had $5.00 in clad & a heavy Edward Mirell titanium bracelet. Even with the 6x10 coil it was easy to pinpoint with most of the coins being 3" back from the tip & slightly to the left of center of the coil. I think I'm ready to hit it hard.

One question for you all ? has anyone ever found gold jewelry between 22 & 28 most of mine has been right at 20

Good to see you back at it Bula. Nice hunt and would love to see the bracelet. As for the gold rings, I've found a small child's ring with a VDI of 6 and Larry has found a wedding band in the 60's. It all depends on the amount of gold. On an average, I would say most rings are around the 20's for the VDI. IMHO.......HH, Nancy

Hi Bula, I have found gold rings all across the vdi.Small 10k at 10vdi to large mans at 57, 18k at 73, you just don't know until you dig. If you get a good sound at any vdi it is good to dig and see. Good Luck Dean

I have to agree with Flintstone Bula, I've found gold rings anywhere from 6 right up to 67 VDI's but most rings will be closer to the nickel range in my experience.

I keep checking but every time I get a vdi of 22, 24, & 26 its a pop top.
