Howdy Treasure Hunters...
Here is what I found with my Tesoro Cibola yesterday.
We have been hunting a Confederate camp for a while. Yesterday we figured out that we have an 1812 camp on the same site. We are having to slow way down to get to the buttons..but it is working. I'm gonna have to do this with three messages. Haven't figured out the code for multiple messages here yet.
Ya'll have a great Sunday...

That first button was an 1812 Artillery Corps Button..
This is an 1812 Navy Button.

Have a great day...my brothers from another Mother...

It showed up when I previewed the first message. I hope no STOOL members are messing with my pictures...

Man
I especially like that 1812 Artillery corps button. What machine did you say you used to find it? How deep were those buttons? Love to go hunting with you someday if I am in that area. You are the best treasure hunter in the world!!
From a fan...

Dear Fan...
I wouldn't say The Mayor is the "best" treasure hunter in the world. Maybe in the United States but saying the "world" might be stretching it a little to far.
Yes those are some very nice buttons. Found 'em with a new Tesoro Cibola detector. These buttons were down at the very extreme depth of this detector. I would just get a little indication of a signal..then kick the leaves aside and check it again. If I still got the target I would then start digging. Sometimes it would go away and I would know then it was deep iron. But sometimes the signal would stay and it would be a nice deeeeeep target.
Yep if you ever find yourself in this area...give The Ole Mayor a ring. We'll get up some kinda hunt..
You have a good one fan...

Nice buttons Ron. What's the round piece with the slot? I found a couple of those, at least they were very similar, at an 1830's era stage stop and inn site awhile back.

I always called them knife handle tops. Ain't got a clue if that is right. Seems to be the closest thing I can think they could be.

But wasn't sure. I'm not very good at ID'ing odd relics but I do like digging them, which isn't too frequent these day because of my work schedule <img src="/metal/html/frown.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":(">.

Gosh! You appear to be one of the best metal detector hunters of all time, no wonder you are famous! I think it is great that you appear so modest, never brag about all the great things you find...you are one of the "greatest!" Please have a great day!
