Hi guys,
My friend wader mike came to visit yesterday and we did 3 hours at my local beach. The sand has all been taken away in a few areas, so we just hunted there where the stones are exposed on top of a clay bed. I knew we were in the right place as we started pulling out old coins straight away. We got 4 old 1 penny coins, ( the big ones on the right) all from early 1900's 1 thruppeny bit fom 1943, and some old modern clad. I also found a lead sinker, and what I think is an old ships nail, (above the brass plaque)
I have no idea what the plaque' s from, it could be from the Americans in the war, because they were training lots here, and a tank unit was based here. It says LB(m)A co. ltd. in the middle and rept5/42 on the bottom. At the top are the numbers 391/64.
Any ideas?
We are off to a different spot today, hope today brings some gold, fingers crossed!
Thanks for looking water wizard
