Mxt comes through again. My farmer is pulling his sugar beets and I had a window of opportunity yesterday.
"The coin is an Elizabeth I halfgroat. The initial mark appears to be a woolpack, which would date it to 1594-96. The artefact is a mount with separate rivet and would date late 13th to 14th century." Graciously ID's by Rod Blunt.
The mount is used on leather.
I think I'll cry when we get stationed somewhere else, because this place truly is the metal detecting mecca.
