ok so my hubby and I were out at silver hill...we found this stuff...some clad a silver plated earring and a gold plated eifel tower. now for the story..

.so there were some workers doing some construction on the other side of the place. when they were ready to leave.....knowing we were out there for a while now....one of the workers came up to us and said..." I dont think you guys are allowed to do that" my hubby asked " why not?" Worker replies.."Because it is school property and you guys are just digging up everywhere" i see no holes. we fill all our holes and are very careful what we do.........back to story....my hubby just kinda looked at him funny. worker then says " I am going to write down your lincense plate number and if anything comes up missing...." talking about the construction site....my hubby stops him in mid sentence and says "we are not thieves. besides we werent even planning on going over there." worker again replies " just in case" my reply to the worker " whatever do what you want. "

You run across jerks like that occasionally. Don't let them get to you. Just enjoy the hobby and chalk it up to ignorance!!

Should have told him you wanted the name and number of his boss...that should have shut him up...
And I would have said...If your so worried about your stuff, take it with you when you leave...

Dobbie, don't you and your husband take it to heart. I've ran into a few of them type myself. It seems like they have a chip on their shoulders and hate the thought that someone may benefit from something. I would of said, " You know, thats a good idea! In fact lets just exchange both our information, just in case some of our equipment we are using comes up missing! You know you just can't tell who the thief's are these days!" They normally don't like it when the shoes are switched. You two just keep swinging and don't Worry about people like that. They are everywhere.

Get the idiots Company name, phone number and LLC# off of the side of any of the company trucks or equipment. Then make 3 phone calls...1. School District Superintendants office
2. His Company office...You want a Project Manager or Owner...don't settle for yelling at a foreman or office girl
3. School District Public Relations office or OSHA at 1 800-922-2689 [use the last number only with the list of safety violations in hand...pictures are a nice touch.]
Those workers are on a 'prevailing wage' job [a construction workers favorite.] I'll bet that if you call the above numbers and raise holy hell the workers will do everything in their power to hide when they see you and most of all after the OSHA Inspector gets through with them they WILL use safe work practices. Iam always allowed to hunt construction sites after I share my pics with the Project Manager.
