Yesterday's find....

The office was DEAD yesterday and it was 65 degrees, so I slipped off to a cellar hole not far from work. I was the best dressed relic hunter in the woods! I ran up on a BIG dog on the way in so I parked and went into the woods far below the cellar hole. I was having a hard time finding the chimney and then my phone started ringing. It was my Dad - Frank(VA)and he was at a cellar hole up in VA and he had just popped out an 1836 bust half dime :yikes: Well now the pressure was really on. Well, it only took about 20 minutes and I was calling him back ;)

It's impossible to tell from the photo, but I'm 98% sure this is an 1817 LC with 13 stars. My camera died and I can't get a good picture, but it looks like the last 2 numbers are "17" and since there are 13 stars, I'm pretty sure that's it.

Here's the front:

Not the prettiest I've ever seen, but I'll take it! Anybody want to guess where I'm having lunch today?

Not to many of them turning up here in california! Nice find! Still looking for my first Lg cent!

It worked! Maybe we should revisit that site again! It's kind of like that plantation...you know theres stuff there, it's just taken us a lot of trips to find it! Conratulations on your first Bust! Now it's my turn! See you tonight!

Bust coins are hard to come by anywhere!.....I only have maybe 4-5 total since I started. Great find!!
