Yesterday's club hunt finds.

Our club had our monthly hunt yesterday at the old scout camp and it was a great day. I think there were twelve of us there, the weather was perfect and we all had a great time. I didn't get the final silver coin count, but I know that we pulled over twenty pieces of silver including two barber halves and two barber dimes as well as other items. My count was a 1912 barber half, four mercs 1923, 28 and two 43's, a 1960 Canadian silver quarter, wheaties were a 31, 42, 43, 50 and a no date, three no date buffs, two 1901 V nickels, a Seattle World's Fair token and a nice silver ring. I think this place might be running a little dry, but like they always say, a place is never hunted out.........:) I'll take a day like this anytime........:) Thanks for looking and HH.

WTG EDDIE!!! Now that's the way it's done Buddy! Barber Half!!!! I am glad you were one of the lucky guys to find one. There wouldn't be a doubt in my mind of going back there and hunting that site too death. Sure looks like one of my post's when I was getting out last year.:punch::clapping: I hope you enjoy the feeling that I have when I get those kind of finds. GREAT FEELING, ISN'T IT EDDIE!!! Hope you have many more hunts that produce like that one did and Good Luck and HH to you. Oh, and by the way, did you ever find out anything on that Ring you found a while back? Did it have real Diamonds in it??? :super:

Thanks James. I'm also happy to be one of the lucky ones to have found a barber half. I think there were six of us there that had Minelabs and I think we were the ones who were finding most of the silver. It does look kind of like one of your posts and it is a great feeling buddy. The only thing missing is that darn seated!!.......:) I would love to hunt this place to death, but unfortunately we only get the chance to hunt there once a year because of so many activities going on there all year. Got to wait till next year, but worth waiting for.......:) I would love to have more hunts like that, but the old spots are few and far between around here. That ring only had cubics in it......:( Maybe next time those rocks will be real........ :) I noticed that the inside of my screen was fogging up some on my XS. Not sure what is causing moisture to get in there. I might have to send it in to Minelab and have them check it out if it happens again. HH.

is it fogging up inside the Control Box? If it is inside the Control Box, the next questions are 1. Where are you keeping your Detector when not in use? and 2. What was the temp. of the room where you had your detector stored at and what was the temp. during the hunt? Could just be condensation building up due to being stored in a cool environment and then being brought out and used in a hot environment. But it would be a good idea to call Minelab and ask them what they think on your moisture problem. I have had moisture build up inside the Rain Cover while in use but never in the Control Box. Hope it isn't anything serious! Good Luck and HH.

Hi James,

I keep my detector in the house when not in use which is around 70 degrees most of the time. I do have a rain cover for it also, but only use it when it's raining. Saturday's hunt was dry and in the low 50's and I didn't have my cover on, so I am a little puzzled as to why she was fogging up on the inside of the control box. This is the first time this has happened since I bought my XS. I'll give Minelab a call and see what they say and if they say to send her in then that's what I'll do. Thanks for the help James. HH.
