yesterdays[brrrr] finds near the battlefield

GRAY GHOST

New member
hello everybody, i braved the cold central va. winds for 4 hours yesterday and brought home some goodies! ive only hunted this 70+ acre piece of ground near cw battle of hanover station/ashland twice before. rain interfered bad one time so that dont count! me and a huntin buddy found a boatload of stuff our first time out there[previous post] this is what i found: a plain brass buckle, maybe confederate, a solid iron buckle for mules, etc.,a shot 2 ringer, a shot 3 ringer star bottom, a piece of shot from the famous buck and ball .69 cal. arrangement, a spencer shell casing, a seriously mushroomed shot bullet,1 small flatbutton w/shank,1 floral button face,a huge percussion cap, a tent grommet, and what appears to be a wheel off a childs toy. oh what fun it is! all of this [plus the previous post] out of a 6 acre field. i will be back up there this weekend for sure. just goes to show theres plenty still out there, good luck and hh,

But ain't it amazing how many prople would call that junk= It's history, every piece i find , i always wonder or try to imagine-HOW-WHO-WHEN, all of it means a lot to me congratulations on the finds:thumbup::usaflag:

Nice finds! That "wheel" is actually from a parasol (umbrella). It is a pretty common find at campsites.
