Fun time with my V3i in an environment that I do best in salt compensate mode in either single or 3 frequencies. Several wheats in the 7" range and best was this half dollar that was a no doubter at 6 - 7". Sensitivity = RX gain 8, all metal 76, disc 94 - I run my GBal offset at +1 wether I run it in tracking or lock I recheck it often. Raising my D2 3 to 4" above the ground didn't diminish the nice hit it produced. The staining and pitting shows it was a wet salty environment, and an area that sees quite a bit of standing water. Cleaning it up shows the progression after a rinse and ultrasonic bath. Last was stint in electrolysis that really had an impact. breaking the clump open on the plug showed an impression and stained dirt. ultrasonic results after
Above after electrolysis.

Great finds, our silver doesn't look like that. Good adjustment to handle the soil.

That's the only area I need to run the "tracking" in the salt setting. I found I get a little better target response doing that change and not going to salt under "transmit frequency" unless I walk to the wet sand. I was about a 1/4 mile or less from the ocean. The majority of soil here is typically of iron mineral content. It's like there are two intensities for handling salt based on wether I change one or both settings.
